ABOUT WREN PR

Wren PR is small, but mighty.

After working in the news industry and at several PR agencies, Wren founder Marissa Pressey noticed something: PR and affiliate marketing were often treated as two separate worlds. Publicists didn't always understand affiliate, and affiliate teams weren't always thinking about public relations. But when the two work together, brands have more opportunities to get featured, build credibility and drive sales.

So she started Wren PR to bridge that gap.

Today, we help brands share their stories through media outreach, affiliate partnerships, influencer collaborations and thought leadership. With more than a decade of media relations experience, Wren PR keeps a close eye on trends and the news cycle to find timely opportunities that get clients in front of the right people.

After all, the early bird gets the worm.

Meet Marissa

Marissa Pressey is the founder of Wren PR and a go-to consultant for agencies and publicists looking to sharpen their PR and affiliate marketing strategy. With extensive experience in both worlds, she's just as comfortable landing a client's first national placement as she is helping another agency build out their affiliate program from scratch. Her clients (and the teams she consults) will tell you the same thing: she treats every partnership like a real relationship. Before PR, Marissa spent time in front of the camera as an Emmy-nominated broadcast meteorologist, and she holds a degree from Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. That firsthand newsroom experience gives her a distinct edge - she knows exactly what makes a story newsworthy because she used to help tell them. Marissa has secured standout media placements for her clients on outlets including the Today Show, Good Morning America, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Oprah Daily, Good Housekeeping, TheSkimm, Morning Brew, USA Today, New York Times and more. When she's not pitching a big story or building out an affiliate program, you can find Marissa in Southern California planning her next trip, testing a new recipe in the kitchen, tackling an interior design project, or spending time with her husband, two daughters, and their dog Stella and cat Sprinkles.

Meet the Team

Aliza Friedlander

Public Relations & Affiliate Marketing

After years of working her way up the TV ladder, Aliza finally landed a morning show producer position at a top 30 market. Shortly after, her dream of starting a family came true with the birth of her first daughter. She quickly realized the long hours wouldn’t work with motherhood. So she quit and became a stay at mom. After being home with her daughters for several years, she realized it was time to get back into the media world. This time looking for a way to combine motherhood and her career. She kicked off her business in PR and freelance writing. Today, Aliza helps innovative brands and thought leaders land press, increase revenue through affiliate partnerships and uses her journalism background to craft stories the media wants to tell.

Heather Janssen

Public Relations & Copy Editor

Heather is a former TV news reporter turned PR professional. After nearly eight years in the newsroom, she traded chasing stories for helping businesses and organizations earn media coverage of their own. At Wren PR, Heather writes copy, crafts media pitches and helps clients share stories that get noticed. She also leads video storytelling at a San Diego nonprofit, bringing a journalist's eye and a strategic mindset to every project. When she's not working, you'll find Heather exploring San Diego's arts and culture scene with her husband, making the most of her AMC A-List pass, thrifting for vintage treasures or curled up on the couch with her cat, Emerson, streaming her latest TV obsession.
